The North Coast Entertainment Industry Association was formed in 1991 by a number of enthusiastic musicians with the goal of promoting and celebrating the regions rich music and performing arts industry, helping raise the profile and community awareness of the music & entertainment industry within the region.

The Northern Rivers boasts a wealth of musical talent, skills, expertise and academic knowledge which is acknowledged, aided and promoted through the organisation. NCEIA has encouraged many aspiring writers and has created a valuable outlet for musical creativity and recording artistry in Northern New South Wales over the years seeing musicians grow and go on to excel in their musical pursuits both nationally and internationally.

The annual NCEIA Dolphin Music Awards have been held in venues across the region over the years and is a night where the music industry can get together as a whole to network and celebrate the talent of the area. The awards night is the culmination of months of preparation where up to sixty esteemed industry judges carry out the delicate task of choosing the finalists in around twenty separate categories for the year and our valued sponsors rally together to provide prizes and support for the big event. Up to ten artists are hand picked and drawn from other local events to perform on the night, giving their time to make for a great night of entertainment and celebration.

Since that first inspirational event, the NCEIA Dolphin Music Awards have assisted hundreds of north coast singers, songwriters, composers, graphic artists, record and video producers in developing their careers, providing an accolade for NCEIA Dolphin Music Awards winners to use in the promotion of their act or product.

The NCEIA Dolphin Awards are open to all original recording artists, songwriters and composers and video producers, both amateur and professional that are independent unsigned artists, (see conditions of entry for details), that live in the (02) 66 telephone area code.
